Inclusive Education
As an inclusive school, IAS welcomes students of determination, provided we can meet their needs. To foster a sense of community, students of determination with siblings already enrolled receive priority in admissions.
Intake Assessment
- Upon enrollment, the registrar schedules an intake assessment and interview.
- For students with prior indications of determination, the Leader of Provision of SOD (LP-SOD) and SENDCo review documentation and collaborate on placement recommendations.
- This promotes early intervention and fosters a caring relationship between the Student Support Services department, parents, and the student.
Placement and Support
- The Head of School (HOS) reviews intake assessments, observation reports, and SENDCo classroom and grade-level placement recommendations.
- The HOS, SSS department, and relevant teachers collaborate to ensure appropriate support if a student requires specific accommodations.
- SENDCo and relevant staff discuss any specific support needs before the student’s start date.
Additional Support
- Students requiring additional English Language support undergo an EAL assessment.
